Keep the bucket kind.
Vent freely, but protect people's privacy. We're here for the messy bits of life, with a little kindness along the way.
Say how you feel. Leave out who they are.
No real names, employers, addresses, phone numbers, emails, links or details that could identify someone. That includes yourself. Change the details of a story if you need to.
Frustration is welcome. Cruelty isn't.
Ordinary swearing, awkward stories and a terrible Monday are welcome. Threats, hateful attacks, harassment, sexual exploitation and illegal or dangerous content aren't. Don't encourage harm or target an individual.
Comments are for company.
Be supportive, funny or relatable. You don't need to agree with someone to treat them decently. Don't diagnose people or tell them how to hurt themselves or others.
A little moderation, by humans.
Automatic checks sometimes hold posts or comments for review. Those checks can miss things or get things wrong. People review held content and reports, and can hide or delete content. Check your words from the same browser for your submission status and moderation reasons. You can ask us to reconsider via Say hello.
For adults, and for everyday company.
Vent Bucket is for people aged 18 and over. It isn't counselling, medical advice or an emergency service, and it isn't monitored around the clock. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. In Ireland and the EU, call 112. See urgent support from the HSE.
See something worrying?
Use the three dots on any vent or comment to report it. For a formal notice about illegal content, or if you cannot use the report control, see our contact and review process.
